Educational License Program Update
The cove educational license program, which has provided free access to analysis.tool, drawing.tool, loadmodeling.tool, and Vitras.ai, will be winding down. Beginning October 1, 2025, new licenses will no longer be made available. Active licenses will remain accessible until December 31, 2025.
This program has been an important resource for many professors and students, and we’re deeply grateful for the role it has played in classrooms and studios around the world. While the program is ending, our commitment to innovation and to supporting the future of architectural education remains strong.
Below, you’ll find a letter from our CEO, Sandeep Ahuja, and a video from Principal Architect and former university professor Ed Akins, offering perspective on what comes next for architectural education.
FAQs
Why is the program ending?
After careful consideration, we have decided to retire the academic program so we can focus on cove’s long-term goals and future direction. Architectural education and practice are also shifting, moving beyond teaching specific software toward broader approaches that emphasize sustainability, innovation, and AI. Retiring the program allows us to align our resources with these changes in the profession.
Can I still access my license?
Yes! Active licenses will remain accessible until December 31, 2025. After that date, all access to the academic program, including analysis.tool, drawing.tool, loadmodeling.tool, and Vitras.ai, will end.
Will there be alternative ways to access cove’s tools?
At this time, there is no replacement for the educational license program. For students and educators looking for resources, we recommend exploring the American Institute of Architects (AIA), including the AIA 2030 Commitment, as well as organizations such as Architecture 2030 and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), which regularly share educational materials and guidance.
