The Open Geospatial Consortium is pleased to welcome a new Principal Member based in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, the National Office of Technical Studies and Development \u2013 known as BNETD for its name in French, the Bureau National d\u2019\u00c9tudes Techniques et de D\u00e9veloppement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Headquartered in Abidjan, BNETD assists the Government of C\u00f4te d’Ivoire and other countries in eastern sub-Saharan Africa with major economic development projects through study, design, and project management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a Principal Member of OGC, BNETD will have a seat on the Executive Planning Committee, engage deeply in the standards process and its applications, and shape the future of the consortium\u2019s technology roadmap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur work supports a wide range of applications that benefit developing countries, from precision agriculture to urban planning to public health preparedness,\u201d said OGC Chief Executive Officer Peter Rabley. \u201cBNETD will now be a valued partner in that regard. They also will act as an anchor for training and capacity development in the region. We are thrilled to welcome BNETD to the OGC community.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
